STIEG, ALMA LOUISA (Hess) 94, of Maple Village, Unionville, formerly of Burlington, widow
of John E. Stieg, died Tuesday, (February 5, 2002). Born in Rockville, April 13, 1907, daughter
of the late Henry and Frieda (Nett) Hess, she resided in Burlington for 34 years and Unionville
for the last 30 years. Alma was a long time member of the First Church of Christ Congregational
in Unionville, where she served on many committees. She is survived by her daughter and sonin-
Iaw, Jonyl and James Olesak of Avon; a daughter, Janet of Utah; her granddaughter, Alyson
M. Olesak of Avon; a grandson, James; and a granddaughter, Jody and five greatgrandchildren.
Alma was predeceased by her beloved son, Jon Henry Stieg; and her beloved
daughter, Joan Eileen Steig. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St.,
Unionville on Thursday, 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the First
Church of Christ Congregational with the Rev. Thomas F. Dean officiating. Burial will be in the
family plot at Center Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the
First Church of Christ Memorial Fund, Main St., Unionville 06085 or to the Jon Henry Stieg
Scholarship Fund at the Lewis Mills High School, 24 Lyon Rd., Burlington, 06013.
