He served in the military during World War II. He worked in logging and in construction. Hunting and fishing were among his hobbies. He was a member of the Elks and Moose lodges.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don and Dave, both of Oakridge; a daughter, Peg of Oakridge; a brother, Chuck of Ferndale, Wash.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children. His first wife, Kathryn, and two grandchildren, John and Vonnie, died previously.
Oakridge Chapel of the Woods was in charge of arrangements.
