Betty was the youngest child of Walter Anderson and Evelyn (Schultz) Anderson. Born on September 27, 1937 she grew up in Appleton, WI graduating from Appleton High school in 1955.

She worked for a law firm in the city until she was married to Everett Rohde in 1959. Family was important to her and she was able to remain home while her children were young, helping Everett with his photography business. Later she worked part time for Dr. Thomas Luther for many years. She and Everett remained in Appleton their entire life, being very active at First English Lutheran church as well as in the community. They loved to travel with the family and their camper, and later, after Everett retired in the early 1990's, to wider variety of places both here and overseas. After their son moved to Florida, she and Ev traveled for extended visits during the winters. With Ev's sister living on the Gulf side of Florida, the started spending several weeks at a time during the harshest part of the winter. They later bought a cute trailer home in one of the retirement parks in Bradenton, allowing them to spend many years over the winter with friends and family in the area.

In early 2009, Betty had open heart surgery. The day she was to leave the hospital, she had a massive stroke. The doctors were unable to clear the blockage which left her unable to speak and bed-ridden. She died from a heart attack a couple months later. Her husband Everett by her side. She died just 26 days shy of her and Ev's 50th wedding anniversary.

Betty had a quiet strength about her, was supportive and loving to both her family and friends, but could also stand her ground when it was necessary. Her husband who had been by her side daily during her time after the stroke, died less than 3 months later. She is missed daily by both family and friends.
