Joseph Latimer Boyce was born in Fair Haven, Preble County, Ohio, August 22, 1822, and died November 19, 1903. He came to Rice County, Kansas some 29 years ago. He was married to Martha Wood May 19, 1891. He has been a faithful follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and a member of the United Presbyterian Church for more than sixty-three years. He was a charter member and an elder in the First United Presbyterian Church of Sterling, Kan. He was a quiet but useful citizen, a neighbor, and a kind husband. His wife and one sister, Miss Mary Boyce, and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his departure.
