Mildred "Mickie" Moyer Ford, 86, of Mosheim, died Saturday morning at the home of her sister, Betty Evans, in Mosheim. She would have celebrated her 87th birthday on Sunday.

She was the widow of Kermit "Cotton" Ford, the "love of her life", who died Jan. 26, 1986.

Mrs. Ford was retired from North American Phillips (Magnavox) after a number of years of service.

She attended Romeo United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted.

Her family stated, "Mrs. Ford was a people person, who loved being with family and friends. She volunteered at Roby Fitzgerald Adult Center and Mosheim Meal Site, helping with home bound meals, going to church and being with her church family.

"She visited her many special friends, always wearing a smile and ready to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, feeding the birds, and a special pet, 'Rusty.' She was a devoted sister, aunt, great-aunt, who had many special cousins, friends, and neighbors.

"Mrs. Ford was loved dearly by everyone young and old and will be greatly missed, as she leaves loved ones here to join her many dear loved ones who have gone on before her."

Survivors include two sisters: Betty Evans and Mary Inscore, both of Mosheim; one sister-in-law: Hollene Moyer of Mississippi; her special nieces: Sue Dunaway of Florida, Vanda Scott, Kim Bryant, and Joann Kinser, all of Mosheim, Shelia Short and Helen Hankins, both of Greeneville, and Shirley Vines of Jonesborough; her special nephews: Ray Fillers, Bobby Dale Fillers, and Jerry Fillers, all of Greeneville, Ronnie Evans of Mosheim, Chip Evans of Greeneville, Tim Moyer of Mosheim, and Steve Fillers of Jefferson City; several special nieces and nephews of the Kermit Ford family; her special, supportive caregivers: the staff of Caris Hospice and Dr. E.B. Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Oscar and Dessie Ottinger Moyer; four brothers: Virgil Moyer, Edd Moyer, James Moyer, and Robert "Bobby" Moyer; four sisters: Stella Gray, Hazel Isley, Ilean Bowers, and Jean Stillman.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
