Born in Cambridge, he was educated in Raynham, where he has lived for most of his life. Mr. Ventura worked as a nursing assistant for the Brockton V.A. for more than 25 years.
He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed gardening, animals and loved his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Mr. Ventura leaves two sons, John Ventura of North Carolina and William Ventura of East Taunton; a daughter, Mary Ann Rivard of Norton; four sisters, Mary Gosselin of Plymouth, Janet Fournier of Marstons Mills, Florence Kable of Taunton and Angelina Gosselin of Carver; and four grandchildren, Harlee Ann and Samantha Spring Ventura, both of East Taunton and Nicholas and Peter Rivard of Norton.
He was also the brother of the late John, William, Joseph, Frank and Lorraine Ventura and Georgina Given.
His funeral will be Monday, April 14 at 10 a.m. from the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann's Church in Raynham at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday, April 13, from 2-5 p.m. Interment will be in the family lot in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Taunton.
