She was born on Feb. 7, 1927, in Greene County, and was a daughter of the late Bert and Maggie Day of Spindale, N.C., formerly of Greene County.
Mrs. McCamey was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union.
Her family noted, "She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, with a very kind and loving heart for all."
Survivors include her husband of 60 years: James A. McCamey of Mohawk; a son and daughter-in-law: Mickey Monroe and Linda McCamey of Morristown; three granddaughters, "whom she dearly loved": Vickie Conley and her husband, Martin, of Morristown, Julie Phillips and her husband, Mark, of Mohawk, and Beckie Johns and her husband, Brandon, of Russellville; four great-grandsons: Brandon White, Logan White, Nicholas Conley, and Cole Phillips; a sister and brother-in-law: Bertie and D.L. Simmons Jr. of Spindale; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Harry Day.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6- 8 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. Kevin Wisecarver will officiate.
A committal service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Wayne McCamey, Stevie McCamey, Wade McCamey, Richard Day, Terry Shelton, and Steve Carver.
