Phebe Vale was the daughter of William and Ann (Wetherell) Vale, born 1801 in Warrington Township, York County, Penna. on the land once owned by her grandfather, Robert Vale and upon this land she also died 25 December 1887. She married in 1828 in York County to Eli Cookson, son of Daniel and Lydia (Walker) Cookson of Warrington Township, York County, Penna. Eli and Phebe Cookson had three children:

Eli Franklin Cookson, born 19 March 1829 and died 3 April 1913, a single man, no known descendents. He was buried by his nephew, Frank Garretson at a place then known as Flora Dale, near Bendersville, Adams County, Pa.

Hannah Ann Cookson, born 22 July 1832, died 20 February 1899, she married 16 October 1856, Joel Vale Garretson.
Their children: Franklin 1857, Elizabeth 1861, Alice 1865, Rebecca 1876. Hannah and Joel Garretson are buried in Menallen Friends Cemetery, Adams County, Pa. 55895546 & 55895514.

Milton Vale Cookson, born 15 March 1834 and died 6 June 1898, he married 1855 to Henrietta Comfort, and had the following children:
Hannah, 1856, Nathan, 1858, John, 1860, Sarah 1862, Phebe J. 1865 and Lewis W. 1868.
