Douglas D. Hall was born January 14, 1922 and went home to be with the Lord on Monday August 18, 2008 after a short battle with leukemia lymphoma. Douglas was born in Marlowe, Oklahoma. He served in the US Navy during WWII and after his service married Bettie Jane Shumate in Melrose, NM. Douglas was employed by and retired from Santa Fe Railway as a Special Agent in Belen, NM. He was a member of Los Chavez Baptist Church and the Belen Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bettie, a son and daughter; Dennis Hall of Houston, Texas and Linda and husband Ken Jenkins of Cypress CA. One sister, Alverda Bovee of California and his grandchildren Denise & John Ely, Kimberly & Joel Buchholz, Michael Jenkins and Jeff & Shawna Hall as well as 7 great grandchildren, also survive him. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Belen with Pastor Boyd Morerod officiating. Interment will be private.
