Mary Margaret Bausell, 69, of Oliphant Drive, died Thursday morning at her home.

She was retired from the Greeneville City School System as a special education teacher.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bausell's family noted, "She dedicated her career as an advocate for the handicapped. She dedicated her life to serving others, her family, and most importantly, her Lord Jesus Christ."

She is survived by her husband of 46 years: Richard G. Bausell; her daughter: Lisa D. Bausell of Jonesborough; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Patricia Gail and Gary Smith of Jonesborough, Verna and Pete Peterson of Erwin, and Katherine "Kay" Meade of Portage, Ind.; a brother and sister-in-law: Bobby Joe and Maxie Kiser of Carbo, Va.; her mother-in-law: Katie Bausell of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a brother-in-law: Larry Bausell and his wife, Jeanette, of Ormond Beach; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Todd and Angela Johnson, Brenda Cates, Mary Carmack, and Edith Boswell.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Ethel Kiser; a sister: Loris Sutherland; and a brother: Tommy Kiser.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. David Green and the Rev. James Best will officiate.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

The body will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Todd Johnson, Daniel Anderson, Cory Hale, Jack Speight, Dennis Kiser, and Mark Bausell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. A.K. Sen, Dr. Dharmen Patel, Dr. Thomas Beckner, Gary Smith and Larry Bausell.
