Death Claims Mrs. Ballard

Sunday night Mrs. Nathan Ballard was called to her last resting place after an illness which lasted for several months, and was hopeless from the start.

Laura Elizabeth Carpenter was born on June 4, 1840, at Northville, N. Y., where she resided until 1855, when she came to Wisconsin, and has lived at or near the city of Evansville until the time of her death.

On January 1, 1861, she was united in marriage to Mr. Nathan Ballard. Two children were born to them, Allen D., who lives near this city, and Mrs. Lillian Wiggin, a resident of Evansville.

The funeral was held from the home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. T. W. North conducting the services.

She left besides her husband and children many firm friends to mourn for her.
