HINSDALE - Charles W. Bird Sr. of 4499 Gile Hollow Road died Thursday (April 25, 1991) in Olean General Hospital.
Born in Almond on Oct. 23, 1908, he was a son of William and Julia Henry Bird. He was married to the former Ida Antonioli, who survives.
Mr. Bird had been employed for 30 years at the Olean Fruit Market, retiring in 1973.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Charles Bird; and a daughter, Mrs. James (Julia) Warnow, both of Olean; four grandsons; two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Maxine) Kellogg and Mrs. George (Ethel) Bowen, both of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Bird.
Burial was in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
