On last Friday night, J. H. Lott died at his home in Portales. Mr. Lott was an old Confederate veteran and had passed the alloted span of the average man. He was buried in the Portales Cemetery Sunday afternoon, with several of his old comrads paying his last tribute at his graveside and floral offerings being contributed by the Daughters of the Confederacy.
