Henry Black (1753-1836), Commanded a company of Rangers to guard the frontier against a company of Indians. He was stationed at Fort Lyttleton and defended the Cumberland and Juniata Valleys. He was born in York County and when he died in Adams county he was mourned as a hero of the Revolution.
