Frances (Baca) Ortiz, 75, a resident of Santa Fe passed away Thursday, December 26, 1996, following a lengthy illness. Frances was born on June 4, 1921, in Chimayo, New Mexico. She married Sotero Ortiz in October of 1937 at St Francis Cathedral.
She was preceded in death by: her son, Sotero Ortiz Jr; a daughter, Flora Aragon; and her parents, Antonia Encarnacion "Chonita" (Espinosa) Baca-Dalton and Fulgencio Baca
She is survived by her husband, Sotero Ortiz of Santa Fe; children: Joseph Ortiz (wife Carmen); Isabel Romero (husband Abie); Tony Ortiz (wife Olympia); and Stella Ortiz, all of Santa Fe; Dolores Margolls (husband Joseph) of FL; and Geraldine Sanchez (husband Steve), of Santa Cruz; sister, Flora Mares (husband Robert); daughter-in-law, Irene Ortiz; son-in-law, Desi Aragon; brothers-in-law, Rumaldo Ortiz (wife Bernie); Inez Ortiz (wife Minnie); and Antonio Ortiz; 26 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
