S/O Leslie Leo and Mary Ellen (Summers) Langston. He attended school in Conway Springs, graduating in 1957. On July 4, 1959, he married Mary Louise Sims. They made their home in Abilene until 1969, when they moved to the Wichita area where he worked at Ralston Purina Feed Mills as a millwright. Jess was involved in genealogy research and volunteered at the Mid-America All Indian Center. Recently, he had been working at the Haysville Community Library with a genealogy class and the Cherokee Language class. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Barnett; brother, Charles Langston; granddaughter, Amber Arnold.
