Burnett, Mabel Nuchols went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2013 at age 92. She was a member of Bays Mountain Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Claude Burnett; her son, Gene Burnett; parents, Wes and Minnie Nuchols; sisters, Nora Atchley and Mary Nelson; brothers, Jr. Nuchols and Bob Nuchols. Survived by sons and daughter-in-laws, Wes Burnett of Missouri, Larry Burnett, David and Jo Ann Burnett, Phillip and Brenda Burnett, all of Knoxville; daughters and son-in-law, Hubert and Betty Troutman, Linda Grimes, Becky Sellers, and Kathy Rogers, all of Knoxville; sister, Nancy Dunlap, and a special sister-in-law, Virginia Nuchols. She had 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great grandchildren; special friends, Wayne Sampson of Missouri and Kim Shaffer of Knoxville; very special nieces and nephews and their families. Family and friends will meet at Highland South Funeral Home, 9010 East Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN 37920 on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 5 – 7 p.m. with a funeral to follow at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Highland South Memorial Park. Brother Hubert Troutman will hold the services and Brother Tim Rauhuff will read the obituary and pray. Singers will be David and Tonya Dent, Phillip and David Burnett. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Avalon Hospice for their love, care and support
