John Fredrick "Fred" Robertson ,78, passed away February 6, 2013 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He fought through the pain and sickness with the Love and Strength of Christ giving him boundless determination. He joins his Lord and Savior with a sigh of relief and a prayer of love for his best friend, soul mate and wife, Joyce.

He kept the illness at bay with his love for flowers, decorating, laughing with friends and bragging on his grandchildren.

He was born to Fred William and Viola Bea Barnard Robertson on September 1, 1934 in Austin, TX. After graduation and brief employment in Hillsboro, TX he moved to Dallas, TX. He joined British American Oil where he met Joyce Marie Chambers. They were married June 18, 1955 at Gaston Avenue Baptist Church, Dallas, TX. They moved to Tulsa, OK in the Fall of 1955. Fred was employed by Skaggs Drug Store for 7 years then joined Texaco in May 1962 and was relocated to Houston, TX in April 1974. He retired September 1, 1994 after 33 years of service. Fred is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Hazel Marie Barnett and Bobbie Jo Saulters; and nephews, Rick and Mike Saulters. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Keith and wife Melissa; daughter, Karen Wagner and husband Ben; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Willie Bea Hensley and husband Virgil and Judith Ann Walter and Husband Dennis; sister-in-law, Wanda Joan Krokroskia; nephews, Michael Martin and wife Becky and Neal Hensley and wife Sherry; nieces, Julya Humphries and husband Rick, Sherri Cox and husband Troy, Jacque Ketchum, Dana Barnett; and a host of
grandnieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Fred's name to Westbury Baptist Church or MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Amit Sarma, P. O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Westbury Baptist Church, 10425 Hillcroft, Houston, Texas 77096. Interment will be at Park Grove Cemetery, Broken Arrow, OK.
