Funeral services were held at the Methodist, Church Monday afternoon for Charles S. Clyde, 80, who died at a Huron hospital Friday, The Rev. Joel
Harris officiated.
Burial was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Pallbearers were Matt Kraft, Garfield Nelson, Ben Cope, Gene
Glenn, Marvin Scott, and Alvin Hanson.
He was born March 31, 1877, the son of George and Mary Clyde at Keokuk County, Ia.
He came to Dakota Territory when a young man and lived at Artesian until September of 1956 when he moved to Huron.
He was married to Eva Hoyt Feb. 8, 1905 at Milbank.
Survivors include his widow; three sons, Robert and Charles, Artesian; Clinton, Mitchell; three
daughters, Mrs, Hazel Stanfield, Huron; Alma Bennett and Mary Van Laechen, Letcher; 16 grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and one brother, Ernie Clyde, Fedora.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one son and one daughter. Also two
grandchildren.
