The Lexington Progress, February 14, 1936) Howard A Wilson, son of David Wilson and Fannie G Wilson, died at his home about one mile north of Parkers Crossroads on February 5, 1936. He was born August 8, 1858, and was therefore 77 years, six months and three days of age. He was married to Janie Scott on December 7, 1882. To this union were born one son, Dennie of Fort Worth, Texas, two daughters, Miss Eva of Bolivar, and Mrs. Willie (Wilson) Wiley of Sulphur Springs, Texas. He was born at the David Wilson home about 2 1/2 miles north of Wildersville. There he grew into manhood and married and moved to the home where he resided until death. In early youth he obeyed the Gospel at Roans Creek and lived a faithful, loyal Christian life, always regular in attendance in all the services of the church so long as his physical condition would permit. His wife died 19 years, 6 months and 5 days after their marriage. Beside the above mentioned children, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Suda Gordon of Houston, Texas, and a large number of nephews and other relatives. I desire to add a short sketch of his father, whom I knew quite well. He represented this County in the State Legislature and was a magistrate.. No case of his was ever reversed by higher courts. During the time of govenrmental disturbance in the 60's he tried and sentenced a man to hang. This man was promptly executed. I saw the limb to which he was hanged onn the Huntingdon and Lexington road. David Wilson was one of the pioneer members of the Church of Christ at Roan's Creek, Carroll County --W.R. Wilson
