Company C "Crystal Springs Southern Rights" of Copiah County, 16th Mississippi Infantry, Harris' Brigade, Mahone's Division, 3rd Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence Hinds County.
Enlisted on 5/26/1861, he was mustered into Captain J.C. Davis’ Company, 16th Mississippi Volunteers, as a Private. This Company was subsequently designated the Company C “Crystal Springs Southern Rights” of Copiah County.
Reenlisted 4/14/1862.
July & Aug 1862 through Jan & Feb 1863 and May & June 1863 Rolls list him as Absent, “Sick at hospital” or “On sick furlough”.
Killed In Action in the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, VA.

The 16th Infantry Regiment was organized at Corinth, Mississippi, in June, 1861, and about 950 officers and men were mustered into Confederate service. They were recruited in the counties of Pike, Wilkinson, Holmes, Copiah, Adams, and Jasper.

Initials on headstone are incorrect; no records of a F.R. Curry in the 16th.
T.K. Curry is the only Curry recorded.
