Carolyn J. Chastain, 61, 1013 W. Powers St., died Thursday at her home after a long illness.

She was born in Marion County and spent most of her life in this area. Mrs. Chastain was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Alpha Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Michele (Mrs. Keith) Ulen, Muncie, and Melody Siddons, St. Augustine, Fla.; two sons, Michael Chastain, Las Vegas, and Mark Chastain, St. Augustine; two sisters, Lora (Mrs. Walter) Palmer, Indianapolis, and Nancy (Mrs. Jack) Loy, Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Billie Dee Chastain, died in 1983.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling will be an hour before services Saturday at Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Memorials may be sent to Delaware County Cancer Society, in care of The Little Red Door, 402 W. Washington St., Muncie 47305, or through the funeral home.
