Mr. Archer was born in Washington County and lived in Baldwin County. He was a retired farmer known far and wide for his generosity and love of his family and community. He was preceded in death by his parents Baxter and Willie Mae Archer, brothers Grover Archer and Dewey Archer, and a sister Rubye Brantley. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Alice J. Archer, his son Lynn Archer, two daughters Linda Morrison (Fred) and Rita Young all of Milledgeville, two brothers, Herman Archer of Milledgeville and Cohen Archer of Sandersville, three sisters, Sally Brantley of Wrightsville, Virginia Jones of Gray and Patsy Blount of Albany, 6 grandchildren; Aaron Archer, Ryan Archer and Levi Archer, Niki Simmons, Jason Roberts and Jessica Roberts, a number of step-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
