James Henry Carter, Sr. was born to the late Alberta and Ned Carter, Sr. on June 8, 1936. He departed this life on July 9, 2011 at age 75. James accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. Paul's Baptist Church in Montclair, NJ.

James grew up in Paterson, NJ, graduating from Eastside High School in 1954. In 1959 James served his Country and received his Honorable Discharge from the United States Army in 1962. James also was a 32 Degree Ancient Free and Accepted Mason.

In 1977, James moved his family from Paterson, NJ to Englewood, NJ where he brought a home and raised his 3 children. James Carter worked at C. K. Services for many long years.

On August 14, 2003, James married Ionie and moved to Willingboro, NJ where he enjoyed his new life. James decided to go back to work and became employed at First Student Bus Company where he worked part-time before taking ill.
James Henry Carter, Sr. was a lot of fun and enjoyed the finer things in life. If there was any gadgets to have, believe it, James Carter had to have it! He had a love for cars and also had a love for computers, but most of all James loved his family. He also enjoyed meeting people, talking and exchanging kind words.

James was predeceased by his parents Alberta and Ned Carter, Sr., and also three brothers; Willie, Alfred and Isaiah, Sr.

James Henry Carter, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Ionie Carter, daughter, Pamela Carter Mc Taggart, Son-In-Law Lincoln Mc Taggart, Son James Henry Carter Jr., Son Gregory Carter, StaceyAnn Kimberline, Jeffrey and Donald Hennie; two brothers; Ned Carter, Jr. of Willingboro, NJ and Rev., Dr. Oscar Carter of Detroit, Michigan; four Sister-In-Laws; Lottie Carter of Willingboro, NJ, Bessie Carter of Detroit, MI, Joan Carter of Paterson, NJ Mother-in-Law, Etta Carter; seven grandchildren; Darnell, Kiara, Anthony, Kaylah, Nyleah, Michael and Adrienne ; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
