Parents: Charles & Martha (Root) Quigg. Came with family to Albion, Michigan at the age of 2. Raised in Albion, Michigan, 1931 graduate, Albion High School. Norman worked as a clean-up boy as a teenager for the Rev. George Bennard (the author of the hymn "The Old Rugged Cross). Norman was a self-taught pianist, guitarist, and vocalist and entertained people in various places in the midwest. In 1933 he enlisted in the Army and in the following years as an officer he served in a variety of important positions in a long and distinguished career. Positions included as Assistant Adjutant General in several locations. He retired in March, 1955. He then served as Administrative Assistant of the Military Science Dept. from 1955 to 1975 at the Army ROTC University in Berkeley. Norman also was a piano tuner for 30 years in the Concord, CA area. Spouse: Elna Viola.
