Margaret Cogan was the daughter of Philobert Cogan and Anne Marshall, daughter of Thomas.

She married after 1623 Roger Ludlow, son of Thomas Ludlow and Jane Pyle. they had four sons and three daughters;

Sarah, who would marry Rev. Nathaniel Brewster.

On 20 Mar 1630, she and the family immigrated to America aboard the Mary and John, sailing from Plymouth, Co. Devonshire, England. The ship was among the group called the Winthrop Fleet. The ship, which was also known as "Mr. Ludlow's Ship", arrived at the Massachusetts Bay Colony on 30 May 1630.

They later lived at Dorchester MA and Windsor and Fairfield, CT. She and Roger in their later lives moved to Ireland Sept 1654 where it is assumed they died.Roger Ludlow married, after 1623, Mary Cogan, daughter of Philobert and Anne (Marshall) Cogan. She was buried at Dublin ((where they had been living since 1654) on 3 June 1664 ("Mrs. Mary Ludlow, wife of Roger Ludlow."
They had 7 children: Thomas, Jonathan, Joseph, Roger, Anne,
Mary & Sarah (Ludlow) Brewster.
