Funeral services for Edgar Pewitt, 76, were 2:00 pm Wednesday, Feb 22 in the First Baptist Church, with Dr. James Weir officiating. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery, under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home.
Born Apr 4, 1907 in Wise County, Pewitt married Velma Hartsell on February 16, 1929 in Bridgeport. Pewitt, formerly a car dealer, died Monday, February 20.
He is survived by the widow, Velma Pewitt of Jacksboro; two sons, Lawrence Pewitt of Austin and Bobby Pewitt of Jacksboro; a daughter, Betty Howley of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a brother, Earnest Pewitt of Canton; four sisters, Effie Jones of Brownfield, Ester Workman of Westbrook, Ruth Oliver and Ruby Hefftey, both of Dallas; and four grandchildren.
