Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland Tue 20 Jul 1937: "Midland, Md., July 20-Patrick I. Stakem, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stakem, Midland and Iona M. Ward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Ward, Eckhart, were married Sunday at the rectory of St. Joseph's church by ther Rev. J. J. Brennan. John Stakem, brother of the bridegroom, and Mary Ward, sister of the bride, were attendants..."

The News, Cumberland, Maryland, Saturday 26 November 1977: "Midland - Patrick I. Stakem, 67, died Thursday in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. He was born here, a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Mullan) Stakem. Mr. Stakem was a retired employe of Allegany Ballistics Laboratory and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Survivors include his widow, Iona (Ward) Stakem; one son, Patrick H. Stakem, Greenbelt; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Mellor of Piedmont and Veronica Bell of Westernport; two brothers, Thomas Stakem of Sarasota, Fla., and John Stakem, Venice, Fla. Friends will be received at the Eichhorn Funeral Home, Lonaconing, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church with interment in the parish cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home."
