William Francis Kalivoda, son of Frank and Barbara Shepek Kalivoda, was born February 14, 1909 on a farm near Cuba, and died June 17, 1995 at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, at the age of 86 years, four months and three days.

He was baptized and confirmed at St. Isidore Catholic Church and was a life long member of the parish.
He received his education at the Farmington Rural School near Cuba.

He was united in marriage to Lillian Rundus on January 14, 1932 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Belleville, with Rev. McKenna performing the ceremony. To this union two children were born: Ines and Richard.

They moved to a farm northwest of Cuba where he farmed until 1979 when he retired and moved to Belleville.

He served several years on the Farmington School Board and was a member of the Knights of Columbus band. The band entertained at the Belleville Fair for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Anna Klaumann, Elizabeth Benyshek and Mary Baxa Johnson, and one brother, George Kalivoda.

He is survived by his wife Lillian of Belleville, one daughter, Mrs. Ines Dejmal, one son, Richard Kalivoda, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, 1995 at St Isidore Catholic Church in Cuba with Fr. John Moeder officiating. A vigil-rosary service was held at 7:30 p.m., Monday June 19, 1995 at Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Chapel in Belleville. Burial was in St. Isidore Catholic Cemetery, Cuba.
