Hazel was born September 14, 1920 in Gatesville, Texas to J.H. and Allie Beeman. The family later moved to Clyde, Texas and Hazel graduated from Eula High School. Hazel married T.H. Howe on September 28, 1940. They were married for almost 50 years. Survivors include twin sons Larry Howe and wife Paula of Abilene, Jerry Howe and wife Kathy of Dumas, Texas; a daughter Patricia Peck and husband Gregory of Abilene; 10 Grandchildren Shawn Holland of Dallas, Texas, Sheryl McFadden and husband Brian of Arlington, Texas, Scott Howe of Sag Harbor, New York, Christi Baumann and husband Michael of San Antonio, Texas, Carrie Boesiger and husband Darin of Wichita Falls, Texas, Pamela Peck of Addison, Texas, Matt Howe and wife Elizabeth of Dalhart, Texas, Cris Howe and wife Jessica of Lamesa, Texas, Caleb Howe and wife Haleigh of Lubbock, Texas, and Cullan Howe of Levelland, Texas; 9 Great-Grandchildren Clay Kimbrough, Caitlin McFadden, Carter McFadden, Abigail Boesiger, Andrew Boesiger, Tristan Howe, Ambree Howe, Kimberly Howe, and Norah Howe.

Very affectionately known as "Mammaw" by family members, she is famous for her homemade rolls, coco puffs, potato salad, strawberry cake, and pecan pie. Hazel will always be remembered for her generosity, her gentleness, and her sweet, loving spirit. The family will forever cherish the special holidays, vacations, and visits with "Mammaw and Pappaw". Hazel and T.H. Howe were faithful members of Calvary Baptist Church, Hazel for more than 55 years. She taught her children at home to love Jesus and honor Him in their lives.

"While we walk the pilgrim pathway, clouds will overspread the sky; but when trav'ling days are over, not a shadow, not a sigh…..Let us then be true and faithful, trusting, serving every day; just one glimpse of Him in glory will the toils of life repay…When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, we'll sing and shout the victory!" (Eliza E. Hewitt, 1898)

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1165 Minter Lane, Abilene, Texas 79603; Meals on Wheels Plus, Inc., 717 N.10th Street, Abilene, Texas 79601; or Hendrick Hospice Care, 1900 Pine Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
