Mary Young Starnes Dillow, 73, died Saturday, December 14, 2002 at Iredell Memorial Hospital, Statesville. Born on April 2, 1929 in Iredell County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Bell and Sara Jane Keller Young.
Mrs. Dillow was a retired inspector for Templon Spinning Mills, Mooresville. She was a member of Vanderburg United Methodist Church, Mooresville.
Mrs. Dillow was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wade Starnes, Sr. and a son, Tony Gene Starnes, Sr. She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Hyde and husband, Jimmy, and Robert Wade Starnes, Jr. and wife, Cathy, both of Charlotte, and Donnie Starnes and wife, Juanita, of Mooresville; brother, Thomas Young, of Mooresville; sister, Charlene Young Wiley, of Huntersville; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at Vanderburg United Methodist Church, Mooresville, with Rev. John Stein officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to Vanderburg United Methodist Church, 1809 Charlotte Hwy., Mooresville, NC 28115. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the family of Mrs. Dillow.
