Mary Jane Tracy, 74, of the Beverly Health Care Center, Warren, formerly of 1607 Shadyside Road, Lakewood, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (March 12, 2002 ) in the care center. A lifelong area resident, she was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Jamestown, the daughter of Harold and Mildred Cosgrove Russell. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School. In earlier years she was employed by the former Gray’s Drug Store for several years. She was a member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also a member of the Busti Home Bureau and worked for the Chautauqua County Board of Elections in the Lakewood area. She is survived by her husband, Frederick N. Tracy, whom she married April 17, 1946; two daughters: Beverly Holmes of Jamestown and Beth Schuver of Silver Creek, Ga.; three sons: Brian Tracy of Pittsfield, Pa., Brad Tracy of Duncanville, Texas, and Bruce Tracy of San Diego; 10 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Harold Russell of San Clemente, Calif.; and a sister, Roberta Metcalf of Jamestown. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris M. Beckstrom, who died Oct. 27, 1990. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
