9 Jan 1915: Tobias Gerberich, the oldest member of the Gerberich family, died on Friday morning from senile debility at the home of his son, Harrison Gerberich, near Walmers Church, at the age of 86 years. He was the son of George Gerberich, who was the son of John Gerberich. Up until the time of his retirement, he had been an expert farmer, and was a lifelong resident of the northern tier of this county. He was a relative of Dr. D.P. Gerberich, and Dr. Harvey L. Gerberich, both of Lebanon. Surviving are his wife, Lovinia (nee Deininger), and the following children; Henry Gerberich, living near Lickdale; Harrison Gerberich, near Walmers Church; Mrs. Maria, wife of Ephriam Gerberich, Reinoehlsville; E. Grant Gerberich, living on the homestead farm near Walmers Church; Mrs. Annie Sholly, near Jonestown; and Mrs. Sadie Umberger, near Walmers Church. A sister, Mrs. John Rauch, age 83 years, and living near Jonestown, is also left. Mr. Gerberich was a member of the congregation worshipping at Walmers Church, and funeral services will be held there on Tuesday morning, interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
