Kay enjoyed hunting mushrooms (morals) in the mountains and around apple, dead elms, and sycamore trees throughtout the month of April (See photo to the right of the screen). She was one of the best mushroom hunters that I ever knew. She seemed to find them when no one else could not. Here is one batch she found back in the late 1980's. She also enjoyed picking blackberries.
Kay died from throat cancer.
Sandra Kay Miller, 51, of Dry Creek died Friday, June 26, 1998, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness.
Born Oct. 1, 1946, at Dry Creek, she was the daughter of Maxine Burnside Bradford of Dry Creek and the late Albert C. "Cap" Bradford.
Other survivors include two sons, Anthony John and Kevin Roy Miller, both of Dry Creek; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Delores) Lego of Brook Park, Ohio; five brothers, James Bradford and his wife, Wanda, of Dry Creek, Carlton Dean Bradford and his wife, Drema, of Rock Creek, Johnny Bradford of Anderson, S.C., Harold Glen Bradford and his wife, Cheryl, of Seville, Ohio, and Robin Alan Bradford and his wife, Linda, of Beckley; two grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Church of God of Prophecy, Dry Creek, with Pastor Bill Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in the Ballard Family Cemetery at Dry Creek.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, and one hour before services Tuesday at the church.
