EASTON: Winnifred Mae Strout, 84 passed away on Thursday Feb. 7, 2013 at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born in East Corinth on July 9, 1928, the daughter of Ralph and Hazel (Clapp) Goodwin Sr.

She was a very social and enjoyed working. She retired as a CNA from the Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Home in 2004, and then continue to work at Kelly's Fabric Center until 2007. She had been previously employed by Vahlsing in Easton and Converse Shoe Co. in Presque Isle. Winnie was a very kind and gentle soul who cared deeply about her family and friends. She was a prankster who liked to tease and play jokes. She enjoyed reading, embroidery and playing FIND A WORD.

Winnifred is survived by a son Keith Strout and his wife Harriet of Fort Fairfield, four daughters; Nancy Beattie and husband Daniel of Highland, Michigan, Susan Saucier and her husband of Armand, Bonnie Hotham and her husband Brian, all of Presque Isle, Sally Strout of Easton, a brother Donn Goodwin of Eddington, three sisters Phyllis Garnett of Valdosta, GA., Gretchen Dupuis and Rhoda Turner, both of Bangor, 9 grandchildren, 13 Great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Edgar in 2009, four brothers, Laurice , Ralph, Robert, and Edwin Goodwin, two sisters Donna Holyoke and Beverly Goodwin.

Spring interment will be at Estes Park Cemetery, Easton. (Bangor Daily News posted 2/8/2013)
