MaurIne Elaine Bailey Adams, 85 Yuba City, California passed away February 6, 2013 in Marysville.
Born January 4, 1928 in Pleasanton, Nebraska, she was a Yuba Sutter area resident since 1960. She was an elementary school teacher for 31 years, 25 of which were at King Avenue School in Yuba City.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Marcie and William Clay of Apple Valley, CA and granddaughter Karen Clay.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Orpha, and a brother Lennis Bailey.
She was a member of the California Retired Teachers Association, Marysville Arts Club, American Association of University Women, Yuba City First United Methodist Church, graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She also did her postgraduate work at the University of Davis and Sacramento State. She was active with the Yuba City Senior Center, Red Hats and numerous bridge clubs.
Services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11 AM at the Yuba City First United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Cozad Cemetery with Pastor Doug Smith officiating.

Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
