Concordia Mary Kehoe was born to Charles and Lucina (Braun) Kehoe on September 28, 1917 in Floyd County, Iowa. She was raised on a farm near Colwell, Iowa and attended school at Colwell. Concordia received her nursing education at St. Mary's, Rochester, MN.
Concordia and Orville Birkholz were united in marriage on November 27, 1939 in Rochester, Minnesota. They made their home in Grand Forks following their marriage. Concordia was employed as a Registered Nurse by Deaconess Hospital, St. Michael's Hospital, United Hospital, and also by the Grand Forks City Public Health Department.
Concordia enjoyed baking bread and rolls, canning fruits and vegtables and in later years crocheting. She loved spending time with grandchildren and time at her lake cabin.
Concordia is survived by her children; Charles Birkholz, Rosholt, SD, Gloria (Jerry) Pope, Bloomington, MN, Roger (Jeanne) Birkholz, Grand Forks, Jonathon Birkholz (Vicki Meyer), Bloomington, MN, Virgina (Tom) Otis, Gobles, MI, James (Michelle) Birkholz, Kalamazoo, MI, Tim Birkholz, Grand Forks; 18 Grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville; a brother, Luverne; daughter-in-law, Judy Birkholz; and grandchildren, Patricia, Dean, Paul, and Theresa.
