A funeral service for Pansy W. Pickenpaugh, 93, of Hanover, formerly of Beverly, Ohio, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street in Newark, with Cory Campbell officiating.
Burial will follow in Hoskinsville Cemetery in Noble County, Ohio. Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pickenpaugh passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Kindred Healthcare Center in Newark.
She was born December 18, 1919, in Noble County, a daughter of the late James B. and Bertha (Cain) Scott.
She began working as a cook at the Manchester School in Reinersville. Mrs. Pickenpaugh was an LPN and had worked at the Shadyside Rest Home in Reinersville and in 1971 became the administrator of the Fairview Manor Nursing Home in Beverly. She was a member of the Rocky Fork Church of Christ, the American Legion, and was an avid reader.
Surviving are a son, Marvin D. (Kay) Pickenpaugh of Hanover, a daughter, Charlene J. Stokes of Texas; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Arlene Daugherty of Reno, Nevada, Evelyn Scott of Heath, Geraldine Walworth of Newark, Janet Samberson of Newark, and Linda (JD) Arms of Oakwood; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James A. Pickenpaugh; her brothers, Olas Scott and James Scott Jr.; and two sisters, Estel Waite and Marilyn Lang.
