William was working as a metal polisher for a cast aluminum company, and Mary was manager of a laundry cleaning agency.

By 1943, they were living at 5025 Walnut in Long Beach, with William listed as an instructor for Douglas [aircraft], per the city directory. By 1945, while they had not moved, their street had changed names to Falcon Ave.

Son John Leo Cessna, was married 10 May 1943 to Alice M Goodwin.
When he registered for the WWII draft on 3 May 1946, at 5019 Falcon Ave, Long Beach, hHe stated he was unemployed and discharged from US Navy on 1 May 1946.

In 1950 US Census, William, 36 and Mary, 53, were still living at 5025 Falcon, Long Beach. William E Wolff, b Alabama, was working as a general assembler at an aircraft factory [Douglas]. Her 28 year old divorced son, John L Cessna, 28, was living with them, and he also worked as a general assembler at an aircraft assembly factory.
