Albert Kollman, age 90 passed away on Thursday, the 17th of December 2009.

He was the loving and loved husband of the late Doris Duhe Kollman and the devoted father of Donna K. Gordon, Susan K. DuPlessis (Jay) and Jerry A. Kollman. He was cherished by grandchildren; Stacey Gordon Barry (Ronald), Rebecca M. Gordon, David J. Gordon (Laurie Switzer), Michael J. DuPlessis (Leanne Metge), Grant A. DuPlessis and the late Constance Gordon Webster. Also, great-grandchildren; Rachel, Gregory and Michael DiMarco; Seth, Laura and Ryan Webster; Brennan Barry, Ryder, Skyler, Kaylee, Ivan and Joss DuPlessis, and Abigail Switzer. He is survived by many dear relatives, among them Lelia Kollman Kertz (Mrs. Charles) and Mr. Jack F. Maxwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert Paul and Alice Bailey Kollman and his sister, Adele Rita Kollman.

Mr. Kollman was a brilliant, generous, honest, honorable man who treasured each moment of his life. He earned the American Legion Award upon graduation from Lutcher High School in 1937 and attended Tulane University when he was awarded a scholarship. He is a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army-Air Corps. In 1984, he retired from LSU Clinics of LSU Medical School in New Orleans. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church for 60 years. He was also active in the Boy Scouts and Holy Name Society.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 11:15 am until 12:45 pm at the Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm from the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina with Fr. Mark Beard celebrant. Military Honors will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
