LaVerna Edith Johnson, 77, passed away Jan. 30, 2013.
She was born June 26, 1935, in Kay County, the daughter of Ray Clarence and Goldie Edith Vaughn Rollins.
LaVerna was employed as an LPN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edzel W. Johnson; sisters, Agatha and Norma; brother, David; and stepson, Gary.
She is survived by her son, Richard Johnson and wife, Kelly; daughter, Dorothy Smith and husband, Robert; two brothers, Lester and Owen Rollins; two sisters, Donna Lesemann and Linda Reese; five grandchildren, Quinn Johnson, Steven Smith, Kenny Smith, Robby Smith, and Charlie Potter; and numerous other loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Ponca City, 900 West Prospect, Ponca City, OK 74601.
A graveside burial of ashes will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Longwood Cemetery in Ponca City. A meal will be provided following the service at noon at First Christian Church in Newkirk at Ninth and Walnut.
