Mary A. Baird, 83, of Sycamore, died Monday, February 4, 2013 in Kirksey, KY. She was born May 26, 1929 in Nodaway County, MO. She was the daughter of Bernard and Helen (Zimmerman) Auffert, and married George H. Baird on July 3, 1951.
Mary worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company as a supervisor/operator, retiring after 25 years of service. She later enjoyed her work at Ace Hardware in Aurora for over 10 years. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Maple Park and the Telephone Pioneers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister.
