Helen was an influential member of the church as a prayer warrior and an example of Christianity that others strive to emulate. She loved to study and share the gospel of Christ and she was always willing to help others in need. Idaho was the perfect venue for Helen as she was an outdoors enthusiast that enjoyed camping and fishing, but her favorite thing to do was to go on long afternoon mountain drives with her husband. Helen had a way of making everyone around her feel warm and loved and she graciously took on the role of Granny to everyone that knew her. No one ever left Helen’s home with an empty stomach and she was most famously known for her southern comfort cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gale and Elsie Davis; her beloved husband Clifton, of 52 years, her brother Joe and her sisters Dorothy, Hazel and Sarah Jane. She is survived by her brother Homer; children: Rowena (Mario) Torres, Curtis (Angie) Benton, Bobby (Glenda) Benton and Delores Philips; four grandchildren: Eric, Lisa, Mary and Mark; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
We would like to send a heartfelt thanks to friends and family for their support during this time and a big thank you to the Hospice organization for the wonderful end of life care and support throughout this difficult period. Helen will be remembered lovingly by family and friends for her humorous personality and contagious smile. We will now celebrate and never forget the life of this remarkable woman, God Bless.
