Ricky Waide Barber, 51, of Denison, TX died Monday, Jan 28, 2013 at his home, after a 15-month struggle with cancer.
He was the third child of William A. and Janice M. (Johnson) Barber, born June 8, 1961, in Council Grove, KS.
Military committal service will be 1 pm Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at the Delavan Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 7-8 pm at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel.
Mr. Barber retired from the U.S. Army as a sergeant first class, then served in the Guards. He graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1979.
He married Elizabeth J. Larouche on May 30, 1981, in Chapman, KS; she survives of the home. He is also survived by a son, Rodney Barber (wife-Leisha), and granddaughter, Ashli Barber, all of Denison, TX; a sister, Ginger (Barber) Vaughn of Herington, KS; three brothers, Rodney Barber of Delavan, Bill Barber of Herington, and Kory Barber of Hesston, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father William "Bill" Barber and his mother Janice Barber.
