After marrying, Karl and Phillippina lived in Tu Albshausen in the state of Hessen Germany, which is 42 miles north of Frankfurt.
Karl and Phillippine Krimmel came to Texas in 1846 with four of their 5 children (one dying in Germany). They were some of the earliest settlers in the Big Cypress area.
Upon Karl's death, he was buried with his oldest son Johann Krimmel in the SW part of the old Krimmel pasture at the edge of the woods line that is at an angle and separates the Krimmel Homestead and the Klein Lutheran Cemetery. The farm is known as the Schultz Place.
Krimmel Intermediate School in Klein was named after Karl and Phillippina.
