RIETH, Robert F. (Age 92)

Passed away February 1, 2013 in Spokane, WA his home Harrington, WA. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Gwen Rieth, at the home. They have five children Roberta Maras, Ronald (and Calesta) Rieth, Roger Rieth, Renea (and Kevin) Larmer and Rod (and Lori) Rieth along with nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Gertha Rieth, and four sisters and an infant brother and sister. He was a member of the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, former Harrington Lions Club, Equalization Board, the farmers bowling league and a local boat club. Robert enjoyed carpentry, building their home and out buildings on the farm, drafting, reading, Sunday driving trips and loved to eat seafood. At his request no services will be held. Born March 16, 1920, on the family farm east of Harrington, he was a wheat farmer for many years before retiring and letting his son continue to operate the family farm.

He married Gwendolyn (Gwen) Jahn on October 27, 1938, in Sandpoint, Idaho, where hea was working for a short while before returning to Harrington to farm. He helped with the building of the Harrington golf course and hauled sand for it.

He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, (formerly of) Harrington Lions Club, the Equalization Board, the Farmers Bowling League and a local boat club. Family members recalled he enjoyed carpentry, building their home and outbuildings on the farm, drafting, reading, Sunday driving trips and his love of eating seafood.

His parents, Francis and Gertha Rieth, four sisters and an infant brother and sister preceded him in death.

Besides his wife of 74 years, he leaves five children, Roberta Maras, Ronald Rieth, Roger Rieth, Renea Larmer and Rod Rieth; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren andd 3 great-great-grandchildren.
