MR. BEN DREW CRAVEY, SR., age 87, of Hawkinsville, GA, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, Macon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, February 8, at First United Methodist Church of Hawkinsville, with Rev. John Walker and Rev. Blake Westbrook officiating, with interment in Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery, Milan.

Mr. Cravey was born in Milan, GA and had resided in Albany, GA for 59 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Albany, GA and served with the Georgia State Patrol for 34 years. After retiring from the state patrol, he served in the U.S. Marshall Service for several years and was a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association. He was a loyal member of the "Quickie" Restaurant Afternoon Bunch. He was the son of the late Aileen Drew Cravey and John Studstill Cravey and was preceded in death by his wife, of 54 years, Myrtice Barron Cravey.

Survivors: Daughter - Bengie Cravey of Albany; Son - Ben Drew Cravey, Jr. (Denise) of Hawkinsville; Special Niece - Derrie Kay Grinstead (Tommy) of Hawkinsville; 3 Grandchildren: Ben Drew Cravey III (Kelly), Catherine Rae Cravey and John Barron Cravey; One of the recent highlights of Gran Gran's life, Great-Grandson - Ben Drew Cravey IV; Special Friend - Jeff "Cornbread" Nixon of Hawkinsville; Many Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.

The family may be contacted at the residence of Ben Cravey, Jr., 535 Columbus Highway, Hawkinsville, and will receive friends at Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM-8:00PM Thursday, February 7.
