Ora Buffum Drops Dead
Ora Buffum, an aged farmer living about three miles south of town dropped dead Wednesday just before noon while at work in the woods with his nephew Curtis Buffum. They were engaged in splitting a log and the old man had just raised his maul to strike a wedge when he toppled over. After a consultation with the coroner the Taylor ambulance went out and brought the body to the C.D. Taylor undertaking rooms in this city. Coroner Smith said he would be down this morning at 9 o'clock to hold the inquest.
Deceased was around eighty years of age, but was strong and hearty. He was never married and lived alone with his sister, a maiden lady, on a little farm on Big Creek, south of town. Mart Buffum, who lives at the top of Big Creek hill on the middle road to Lewistown, is a brother and Mrs. Eva Taylor, of Cuba, is a sister. No funeral arrangements will be made until after the inquest.
