"John McGoye, aged resident of this community, died early this morning at his home on East Fairview Street.
His wife, two sons, James and Patrick McGoye, and one daughter, Miss Mary McGoye survive.
The funeral service will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clodk from St. Peter's Catholic Church."

"John McGoye, who died early Friday morning of last week at his home on East Fairview Street, was born in Ireland 86 years ago.
When a young man, he served in the British Army for five and a half years, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. During that time he was in service in China and other countries.
Arriving in America in 1865, he spent a year in New York before coming to Cumberland. Later he lived in Lonaconing for about 30 years and had been a resident of this community for 20 years.
His marriage to Miss Sara O'Neill of Mt. Savage took place 2 April 1890. Besides his widow three children survive, Miss Mary McGoye, Patrick and James McGpye and one sister, Mrs. Mary Rathigan of Mt. Savage.
The funeral service was conducted at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, Monday morning by Rev. John A. Smith, the pastor. Interment was in the parish cemetery."
