Mr. Craton McEachern, 91, of Lanett died Monday, March 28, 2011 at Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley after a short illness.

Funeral Services are planned for Wednesday, March 30 at 3 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Revs. Donnie Erwin Brown and Rusty Williams officiating.

Mr. McEachern is survived by one sister, Sara Harrison of Richmond, Va.; two dear family friends, Grace (Lehman) Scott of Lanett and Renee (Russell) Lee of Lake Harding; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Tallulah C. McEachern.

Mr. McEachern was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the European Theater and visited various parts of Italy and Africa during his service overseas. He could tell you various details about his experience, as if it occurred yesterday. Mr. McEachern was a member of Lanett United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer for more than 30 years. He was also an avid Auburn fan.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 30 from 2 until 3 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.
